DMCA & Copyright Policy

This process is for copyright claims, not general content disputes. For another safety or policy issue, use Support.

1. Copyright infringement notice

Email the notice to support@lumawall.ca with the subject “Copyright notice.” If that route is unavailable, use the feedback form and title it “Copyright notice.” Include:

  1. a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if one notice covers multiple works;
  3. identification and exact location of the allegedly infringing material, such as the LumaWall URL, wallpaper ID, title, and creator;
  4. your name and reasonable contact information;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or law; and
  6. a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

2. What happens after a notice

We may ask for missing information, restrict access to identified material while reviewing a claim, notify the uploader, remove or disable material, and preserve records needed to handle the dispute. A submission that does not contain enough information to locate the material or evaluate the claim may be delayed or rejected.

3. Counter-notice

If your material was removed or disabled because of a copyright notice and you believe that happened through mistake or misidentification, email a counter-notice to support@lumawall.ca with the subject “Counter-notice.” Include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal;
  3. a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name and reasonable contact information; and
  5. the consent to jurisdiction and acceptance of service required by applicable copyright law.

Where the law permits restoration, we may restore material after forwarding a valid counter-notice and allowing the original claimant the legally required opportunity to seek a court order.

4. Repeat infringement

In appropriate circumstances, LumaWall may suspend or terminate accounts of repeat infringers and may restrict users who repeatedly submit content they do not have the right to share. We may also act on clear infringement outside the formal notice process.

5. Accurate notices

Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice can create legal liability. Consider fair use, license terms, public-domain status, and other lawful uses before submitting a claim. LumaWall cannot provide legal advice or resolve ownership disputes that require a court’s determination.

6. Copyright reports outside the United States

You may use the same address, support@lumawall.ca, for a copyright report under another country’s law. Identify the country and legal basis involved and provide enough information to locate the material and understand your rights.
